Some say love it is a river
that drowns the tender reed

사랑이란 연약한 갈대를 삼키는 강이라고...

that leaves your soul to blead

어떤 이는 말합니다.
사랑이란 당신의 영혼에 상처를 남기는 면도날 같은 것이라고요.

Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need

누구는 또 말하지요.
사랑이란 끝없이 갈망하는 배고픔 같은 것이라고요.  

I say love it is a flower
and you it's only seed

저는 사랑을 한송이 꽃이라 하겠습니다.
그리고 당신은 단지 작은 씨앗이라구요.  

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance

상처받기 두려워하면
심장은 결코 고동치는 법을 배울 수 없습니다.
